Women’s World Curling Champion Jennifer Jones takes on Men’s World Champions in Historic Match at the 2009 TSN Casino Rama Curling Skins Game

MNJIKANING (RAMA), ON (Thursday, September 11th, 2008) – Casino Rama is pleased to announce the second annual TSN Casino Rama Curling Skins Game on January 10 and 11, 2009, airing live on TSN and TSN HD. The event features a star studded lineup in which Women’s World Champion Jennifer Jones will compete against the reigning Men’s World Champion Kevin Martin and former World Champions Glenn Howard and Randy Ferbey for $100,000 in cash prizes.

“Last year’s first annual Casino Rama Skins Games was a tremendous success and the fans are hungry for more,” said Jeff Craik, Vice President of Marketing for Casino Rama. “The addition of Jennifer Jones will take the competition to the next level, as it marks the first time a woman’s rink will compete against men’s rinks in a TSN Skins game.”

“Jennifer Jones captivated an entire nation earlier this year with her outstanding performances at the Canadian and World Championships,” said Phil King, President, TSN. “She is an extremely competitive curler and her talents and accomplishments could not be overlooked as an invitee for this year’s Skins game. Along with Martin, Howard and Ferbey, this year’s competition is stronger than ever.”

The four competing champion skips boast an impressive list of achievements consisting of a combined nine World Championships and 14 Canadian titles. Expect intense competition and Big Time Excitement during this single-elimination format where anything can happen as the winner is determined by total prize money rather than points.

The TSN Casino Rama Curling Skins Game is coming off a highly successful inaugural season in December 2007, when Martin defeated Wayne Middaugh to win the title and $61,000. The made-for-TV original TSN production is an annual all-Canadian event featuring four Canadian rinks competing for a total cash purse of $100,000. The event consists of two semifinals on Saturday, January 10, starting with Ferbey vs. Martin at 1 p.m. ET and followed by Howard vs. Jones at 8 p.m. ET. The winners from each semi-final game will advance to the final taking place on Sunday, January 11 at 1 p.m. ET.

Three-game ticket packages are $45, $60 and $90. Exclusive advanced three-game ticket package purchases for Players Passport™ Club Members begins Sunday, September 14th, 2008 at 12 noon, in-person only at the Casino Rama Box Office. Please note that a limited number of tickets are available for this advance on-sale.

Three-game ticket packages go on-sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 16th at 12 noon, and will be available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling (416) 870-8000 and online at www.casinorama.com. Ticket prices do not include applicable taxes or service charges.
